Owls Nest I campers 3.5 - 4 year olds who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2014, and toilet trained prior to
the start of camp. This program is
offered from 9am - 2pm or
9 - 4pm.
This option is designed to
allow our youngest
campers to join in the fun
of our popular Owl's Nest
Program. The activities
and pace of the day are
developmentally age
appropriate for a first camp
experience.
Designed for our younger campers,
ages 3.5 - entering kindergarten,
The Owl's Nest offers a
fun and exciting
introduction to Camp.
Our goal is to create a
safe and nurturing
environment by placing
children into "nests"
(according to age) of
12-16 campers.
- Free play and expert instruction
- Ratio of counselors to campers in each nest is 1:4
- Develop social skills and make new friends
- Participate in non-competitive activities
Each day activities such as crafts, dance,
gymnastics, carpentry, nature,
outdoor games, and swim are combined
with quiet time for conversation, rest and
lunch.
The American Red Cross Swimming
Instructors work with each child, based
on their ability, to progress on their
individual swimming skills. Campers are
split into small groups to provide a
teaching ratio of 1:5.
